Bridget Madden - Library Staffer Since Freshmen Year of College!
My name is Bridget Madden. I work in the MetroWest region of the Greater Boston area in Massachusetts. I have many years of library work experience beginning with my work-study job in college at University of Maine, which started me down the path of a career in libraries.
MassBay Community College Libraries
I have worked at MassBay Community College since 2008, first as the night and weekend Library Assistant and now as the Staff Assistant to the Director of Learning Services.
My work at MassBay includes but is not limited to managing the Course Evaluation Process for the college; managing the social media accounts for the Libraries; creating, editing, and publishing the Library Newsletter; compiling the Staff Resources Manual; staffing the circulation desk and the virtual Ask-A-Librarian desk; creating informational LibGuides about the library, library news and events, and other non-academic content; creating information content for internal college announcements about the library, as well as serving on college and library organization committees.
Other Experience
In addition to my almost 14 years at MassBay, I have also been a library assistant at the high school level. Additionally, I've worked in education as a special education ed tech, an assistant 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, a drama director, an elementary poetry teacher, and as a high school English teacher. I also serve as a communications director and Executive Officer for a local Rhode Island political organization, and as an Arts Director for a weekend-long annual poetry festival.
