My Latest Endeavor - Management 101 Course

I'm taking a Management 101 course as part of the Certificate in Management program at MassBay. If I ever leave my current library job (though I have no plans to as of now) I would like to be a Circulation Manager/Supervisor at a library. Since I can take courses for free as a full-time employee here, I figured the management certificate would be a good credential to have.

This is fourth course I'm taking for the certificate. I like getting to know all the students and professors even better than I would just by being in the library. I have been in managerial positions throughout my work in education, but have never studied it as a subject. I'm looking forward to how doing that will help with what I do now and in the future.

We have to keep a blog for the course and rather than re-invent the wheel, I thought posting my course knowledge to my library blog would be a useful way to finally give some attention to this long neglected site (that reminds me, I should post what I have been up to instead--stay tuned!), and possibly be a good resource for anyone looking for information on the subject of management.
